Biography:

Having undertaken the City & Guilds Certificate and Diploma, Amy graduated from London Metropolitan University in June 2007. Having been self-employed since 2007 as a designer/Maker, Amy has exhibited at galleries, museums and jewellery and craft fairs across the country including The British Museum, Gill Wing Jewellery Gallery, Goldsmith’s Fair, Origin, Art in Action and Made London. Amy has also undertaken teaching jewellery workshops in various locations including Kensington Palace and currently teaches jewellery making at Gravesend Adult Education Centre. Amy makes her jewellery by hand in her Clerkenwell workshop, using Sterling silver, 18ct yellow gold, gold vermeil and black rhodium plating, semi-precious stones and pearls. Amy’s Spyglass collection is inspired by Victorian scientific instruments and a spyglass from a children's story. Amy captures the magic and mystery of these objects in her jewellery and includes elements of movement to spark the imagination. Keeping the same pallet and aesthetic, the collection has evolved and grown with a more pronounced use of semi-precious stones, playing with the juxtaposition of raw and polished stones, cabochon and faceted, celebrating the full potential of their natural beauty.
