Biography:

Celia Davies makes jewellery which can be worn every day. The silver is highly polished and feels good against the skin, its edges are carefully rounded. Comfortable as well as visual, the work is robust in its construction. Inlaid or overlaid coloured metals, or incised lines of black oxide give subtle definition or sharp contrast to the forms. Semi-precious stones (eg. moonstones, tourmalines and amethyst) and manufactured beads (gold and silver), are recurrent elements. These may be used as coloured punctuations, decorative stoppers or as mobile parts which can give the jewellery a more playful quality. Hoefully this combination of elements will endure and mature. The jewellery is made to last.
