ADDRESS :

Biography:

I am a second generation silversmith and graduated from Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen.  I have been running a busy workshop and gallery in Dunblane with my small team since 1978.  My designs include fine quality domestic silverware such as bowls, jugs, spoons, tumbler cups, candlesticks, etc. as well as commemorative commissions.  I also design and produce a collection of fine jewellery. Engraving is often incorporated into my work.  I love working with words - producing hand cut lettering of a favourite poem, a celtic blessing or the "Shipping Forecast" for instance.  I delight in carving motifs based on fish, birds, barley or furrowed fields.  More recently chased lines of reeds, spirals and celtic forms feature in my work.I have a great love and respect for early Scottish Silver with it's straightforward simplicity and integrity.  I strive to honour this tradition in my own work.
