Jean Scott-Moncrieff
My inspiration comes from the artefacts of ancient cultures - the complex patterns, textures and colours; the subtle patina of age and marks from tools used to make each object. All contribute to a unique beauty. I use traditional techniques and hand tools to work directly with the metal - piercing, hammering and shaping. Each piece is then hand-finished, giving it an heirloom quality. Simple lines and forms are enhanced with carefully selected gemstones including pearls, spinels, coloured diamonds and tourmalines.
