Biography:

I draw inspiration from nature and organic forms; its infinite creations, patterns and textures. I like to look at new processes and take inspiration from always challenging myself. I consider it very important to explore new technologies in design and craft manufacturing, to me this is essential in the process, along with my desire to challenge conventions and perceptions. I Hope that the pieces that I have developed and created so far can be admired for their visual beauty as well as the intended function and purpose.

Awards:

2013 The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Craftsmanship & Design Awards – Silver prize in Medal Design for a contemporary approach to conventional medal design. 2013 Student Medal Project - The British Art Medal Society – The Pangolin Editions Prize for a design based on the plight of Elephant Ivory exploitation in Kenya. 2013 The Goldsmiths’ Company Young Designer Silversmith Award – for a ceremonial drinking Sake set. Made in sterling silver with decoration inspired by the study and formation of bamboo plants. 2014 The Goldsmiths’ Centre Precious Metals Bursary - Reversible Drinking Set based on traditional and contemporary Glass. 2014 The Goldsmiths’ Company College Silver Grant - Water Lily Vase inspired by research and development of Korean traditional and European contemporary vases. 2014 The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Craftsmanship & Design Awards – Silver Award in Silversmiths Craft Junior for a two piece Reversible Drinking Set. 2014 The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Craftsmanship & Design Awards – Gold Award in Silversmiths Craft Junior for a Silver Sake Set consisting of vessel, cups and tray. 2014 The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Craftsmanship & Design Awards – The Podolsky Award - given to a young designer showing outstanding potential in silversmithing, jewellery or the allied crafts. 2014 The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Craftsmanship & Design Awards – The Junior Award - given to a young person achieving the highest standard of design and/or craftsmanship in the competition. 2014 The British Art Medal Society – New Medallist Award for showing potential in art medal design. A twelve month educational programme in the UK and Europe. 2015 The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Craftsmanship & Design Awards – Commendation Award in Silversmiths Craft Senior for a Water Lily Vase.
