I continue to explore the human relationship to ornament in my work. How we decorate ourselves and our surroundings with motifs that repeat themselves through history and across cultures. I work within a restrained palette of oxidised silver, 18ct gold, red garnets, and white pearls to create sumptuous and wearable collections that reference ornamental detailing. Often translating large-scale architectural into small, personal scale jewellery. The processes, finishes and traditions of metalwork techniques that I employ have associations of their own that add to the historic elements that I portray in a contemporary way.

I am now in the 20th year of my practice. I have regularly exhibited both nationally and internationally. I have taught on the Silversmithing & Jewellery programme at Glasgow School of Art since 2009. I have exhibited my work nationally and internationally. My work is in public collections including The Goldsmiths Company Collection, in London, and the Alice & Louis Koch ring collection at the Swiss National Museum Zurich. My recent body of work considers ornament through a place and the influences on/in architecture and decoration and how these influences are reflected in the atmosphere and narrative of a place.
