I draw inspiration from eye-catching rhythms and geometry in natural and man-made objects.
I like to create interesting forms and experiment with how they can be displayed to best advantage when worn as jewellery. My starting point for a design is often a model made of card or brass or a drawing on my computer. This then goes through many changes until I’m satisfied that the design I have in mind will be successful.
I usually work in silver, using traditional metalworking techniques and making use of surface texture, oxidation and gold plating to add emphasis to the three-dimensional nature of my pieces. I sometimes incorporate non-precious materials such as brass, silicone and perspex into my designs.
