Noon Mitchelhill

The Goldsmiths Company

Biography:

Noon Mitchelhill's jewellery is absolutely for wearing. Her work explores richness in texture and subtlety of colour; it speaks of the pleasure of making. She clearly enjoys working in metals, especially silver and produces uncomplicated pieces which allow others to appreciate the beauty of basic elements. Her range includes jewellery for both men and women. She produces one-off pieces in silver and 18ct gold alongside production pieces in silver, gold leaf and gold plate. Her work ranges from the highly dramatic to fine delicate pieces. Many are formed from hand-textured, fine silver sheet or coiled from single lengths of fine silver wire. She introduces colour with the use of gold and oxidised silver detail. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1991 Noon has exhibited widely in the UK, Europe, Japan and USA.
