Biography:

I create sculptural pieces, tableware and desk accessories, which take inspiration from my love of landscape and landscape photography. My pieces explore the interplay of shadow and reflection and the natural lines and depressions conjuring images of the lunar surface. I work in combinations of sterling silver and pure iron, decorated using a variety of materials and techniques, including gold and silver wire inlay and stone settings. In my latest collection I play with the idea of a reflection of an object revealing its true nature. A tactile and ethereal instrument in sterling silver is reflected in its iron stand as a viaduct, a branch or a feathered quill. The unexpected blues and purples in the dark iron provide the perfect backdrop for the gentle silver image and create a clean, contemporary design.
