Silverwares, PO Box 6, Lyndhurst

I have worked from my New Forest base since 1990, trading under the name of 'Silverwares'. Whilst my output is largely hand-made, functional tableware, I am increasingly creating more decorative pieces and some important corporate pieces. My aim is always to create silverware which catches the eye and enhances pleasure in one's suroundings. I love the coolness of silver and the tones that can be achieved with polishing. In particular, I value traditional hand skills so that my personal mark is evident on every piece I make whilst an interest in the Bauhaus and Wienerwerkstaette movements of the early 20th century has been an influence on my design style. Balance and suspension are recurrent themes in my work, exemplified in my 'Cinderella' tea set, the 'Cradle' tureen and series of smaller dishes and the 'Italia' candlestick. I have exhibited my silverware widely in the United Kingdom and abroad but work primarily to commission from first sketches to finished pieces.
